Evangeline

satin edge cathedral veil

Evangeline sent me photos of her wedding day.

Sometimes I cannot beleive I made the veil??? I donot see the veils on the brides when I make them so it comes as a shock when I get the photos of my veil in action. I LOVE to see them.

This veil was a very long cathedral single layer satin edge veil with a beautiful cascade cut.

The cascade veils have an unbeleivable drape around the body. They curve as they drape down. Just stunning.

This is from the "Sara" satin bound collection, and to be honest these are my favourite veils to make. I always think that they never fail to look amazing.

I made my first satin edged veil when I was around 16/17. I had no idea what I was doing I just wanted to make my friend- who "Had to get married!" look like a bride. I cannot remember the details of it but I remember finding satin binding to go around the tulle.

Ahhhh many years ago now.

So we are here, January 2022. I thought 2020 was a disater for the wedding industry, but for me 2021 was the worst. I think couples were so weary of booking & cancelling that they either decided to get married without any ceremony or completely postpone until the pandemic is over. So far these first weeks of 2022 are looking good for me (AT LONG LAST) Ive had orders and even a consultation. However if these past 2 years are anything to go by I am not getting my hopes up. I LOVE making veils and I have been lost without them. Anyway less of the gloom and doom, here's to the new year, may we be like my bride above, Dorothea, getting married on a sundrenched beach, together with our families, happy, warm amd smiling. Happy New Year xxx
