Kate, Holly Veils

The Kate & The Holly Veils

Satin cord or rattail edge veils and curly edge veils

Curly wired veil

The "Kate" veil wired curly edge veil.

This veil is very curly!  It has a wire which is then over-stitched onto the edge. The wire is then pulled to make the curly edge.

It is curlier than the Holly veil, and gives real interest and something very unique to the edge of a veil.

It is really only appropriate for a two layer veil as it cannot really be made as a single layer because of the wire havig the be inserted along the edge which in a single layer goes right up to the comb on the top of the head, it would not therefore lie flat along the side of the head.

The "Holly" Satin rattail corded veil

The "Holly" veil has a satin cord sewn onto it- it is also known as the rat-tail cording. It can be sewn inside the edge of the veil- and as many lines as wanted- this example has three--- however a single layer, shown below, can be sewn along the edge which makes the veil curl slightly, but not as curly as the "Kate" veil.

The satin cording or rattail cording gives a really structured edeg to a veil. It is usually only sewn along the edge in a single line, however I have made it doubled or tripled as per the photos shown below.

Available in white or ivory

Here is the single corded version - sewn onto the edge of the tulle.

Examples of the many ways the satin wired cording can be attached to a veil. Left is the single layer on the edge and to the right is the three layers sewn inside the outer edge of the veil.
