Birdcage Veils

The Birdcage Veils

Birdcage veils can be made with net or tulle. Here you will find the full range of the birdcage veils I make.
For full information please see further down the page.
NOTE - I do not make headpieces- all the headpieces and combs are the brides own.

For help in choosing the right birdcage veil, I have made this YouTube video to explain the differences in the birdcage veils.

The "Rebecca" full faced 12" Merry Widow net

Birdcage veil
The "Rebecca veil is made from 12" merry widow net. It completely cups the face & head and can have either a comb attached or a large toupe clip.

Vintage birdcage veil
The Amy veil is made from 9" soft french net. It is designed to just lie across the face and is secured to the head with small toupe clips on either end, The back of the head is not covered by the veil.

The "Michelle" tulle full faced veil.
tulle birdcage veil
The Michelle veil is made from the tulles used to make the veils. It is made exactly like the "Rebecca" so it completely cups the face. A comb or large toupe clip is attached to secure the veil.

The "Brooke" full faced veil in 9" soft French net
Birdcage veil
The Brooke veil is made exactly like the Rebecca veil but from the soft 9" net. So although it completely covers the head it is not as deep.

TWO BIRDCAGE VEILS TOGETHER?
Here is Stephanie wearing two of my birdcages, a "Brooke" and a "Simone". She wore the tulle layer of the "Simone" over her face to walk down the aisle but pulled it back after the ceremony, as she wanted to wear a birdcage but have her husband2B do the traditional "reveal" at the altar.
THE BIRDCAGE VEIL INFORMATION
The veils can be made in various colours and  can be adorned with Swarovski crystals or pearls (pearls are available in white or cream).
The nets are available are 18", 12" or 9"
They all come ready to wear with either combs or toupe clips attached. Toupe clips are a really good choice as they are small and unobtrusive and a really good option if the bride is wearing a headpiece as there is not so much "hardware" on the head. A photo of these combs/clips is shown below.
A net or tulle bow can be attached or kept separate to position where is best for you. I normally make them separately then its easier to position the face veil then slip the bow in where the bride wants it to be. I can make tulle or net bows to wear with the face veils.
The "Rebecca" can have the Swarovski banding around the bottom edge - see the photo on the "Rebecca" gallery.  The tulle "Michele" can be made with the dotty tulles I have in stock, see the gallery for a photo example of that.
Each one is named and the gallery below each of the veil section shows photos of brides wearing them.
There is also a very comprehensive Youtube video above on the page. showing the veils and how to wear them.
Combs & Clips

Left are the combs used on all the items on the site.

Top one is the large 4" (11cms) comb I normally sew onto the long veils,

The next one is the 3" (8 cms) comb which I sew onto the shorter veils and the full faced birdcage veils.

The bottom two are Toupe clips - which are used for the birdcage veils,

the larger one - 1+quarter inch or 3+half cms is the one I normally use for the "Brooke" veil - or sometimes the "Rebecca"  and the smaller one - 1" or 3 cms- is the one I use for the "Amy" visor veils.
