The Emma Veil - Silk Veils

The Emma Veil is made from silk tulle, it is the most luxurious of all the veils.

Here is a video explaining the difference between the soft and the firm silks. click here

The silk tulle comes in two types, the firm silk and the soft silk, examples are shown below of real brides wearing both these silks. These now come in the natural Silk White, a pale ivory, and white - which I have just been able to source.
It is not as wide as "Normal" tulle - it is 70" approx.- so you cant have a very "big" veil in silk.
There are phtotos of the difference between the silks- further down the page.

FOR ALL YOU ROYAL WEDDING WATCHERS -MY OBSERVATIONS ONLY!!!-  Her Royal Highness Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge's veil was soft silk- it was a two tier veil- I estimate  of about 72" - the top blusher layer looked to be about 27" to 30" - so leaving the remaining length down the back to her hips.
It was a flat veil (similar to Ellies below) but attached to the Tiara. (Note she didnot wear the tiara on its own- you only ever saw her with the veil and tiara on.) The tiara anchored the silk down onto her head- flat - totally accross  her head.
If you scroll down to the bottom of the page there is a photo of Helena looking through her soft silk tulle veil- showing exactly the look of the silk
and the many photos of Catherine when she was looking through her veil when she arrived at the Cathedral.

Now also to note - The Duchess's veil had lace along the edge- similar to a mantilla veil- BUT this lace had been worked onto the silk- as the lace on her dress- and not sewn on!!! A very specialised art. Something I cannot do -- sorry I am not a lace maker!!

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SOFT SILK AND THE FIRM SILK
see this video  This shows the differences.

The difference between the firm and soft silks- are in that the firm silk has structure and keeps its shape, - it behaves exactly like the nylon tulle- whereas the soft silk is very soft, drapey and stretchy. It stretches out but then also comes back in on itself. It drapes down and with movement can almost come together into a much slimmer veil. It will not keep its shape and structure . It wont stay out on your shoulders- even the shorter veils.
I have taken phtotos to give you examples of two long silk single layer veils- they are exactly the same lengths and widths.
Then below them are two real brides  photos of shorter silk veils of similar lengths.

The firmer tulle veil can come with all the same edges as the other veils on the site, but the soft silk can only have the cut edge as it puckers when sewn. All the silk tulles can also be adorned with Swarovski crystals.

For the costs of these veils, please see the Prices Page.
